About protein shakes/powder?
Here are some questions I have:
-Is it angelic to take?
-Are there any side effects?
-How promptly is it digested?
-How often should I take it?

1. Yes, they are good to take. But I wouldn't recommend drinking one everyday unless you are working out day after day.
2. No, there are really no negative side effects.
3. It get digested as quickly as any of your regular meals does.
4. Drink at smallest one a day. You can drink two if you like.
I usually drink a protein drink inside one hour of finishing my workout. Some people drink one between breakfast and lunch, and another between lunch and dinner. You can do it that way, too, but I suggest you one and only drink a protein drink if you plan to workout that day. Otherwise you may gain unwanted weight, unless your dream is to put on some weight. If that's the case, later go ahead and drink at least one each day regardless if you exercise that day or not.
Lets try to break this down.
1) Yes its good to pilfer, either to replace a meal, or to use to build some muscle. It really depends on your goal and current diet.
2)aside from farting if you eat a lot of protein, simply size gains :)
3)Again depends on type. Whey protein is quickly absomrbed, Egg protein is milieu, and Casein is rather slow. Type you want depends again on golas, and when you are going to take it.
4) Basically, some whey up to that time and after workouts is your best bet. If you want to get fancy, some Casein before bed, any in the form of powder or cottage cheese. Taking casein before bed will oblige you recover from workouts thru the night, as economically as do a bit to prevent catabolism.
