Are adjectives protein powder like regardless of brand?

are all protein powder the same regardless of brand?

i.e. are the cheaper brands only as good as the expensive brands? why are some so much more expensive than others, are the quality one and the same, or does it make much difference to buy cheaper ones than expensive...
Answers:
Most of it is sheer marketing. Brands will make claims in the order of unique, "patent-pending" formulas that are better absorbed, are proven to boost lean muscle mass by "x amount", etc.

At the wrap up of the day, whey protein is a biproduct of dairy processing. Until the past decade or so, when they realize the stuff was easily gripped by the body and figured out a way to brand it easily mixable, whey was feed to pigs as feed.

Bottom line is that whey protein is whey protein, regardless of the brand. The solely real difference is between concentrate and isolate. Isolate is "purer" and has more total protein by consignment, but it is also more expensive and may not contain some growth factors contained in concentrate. Concentrate is cheaper, have a lower percentage of protein by weight and may be higher within lactose. However, because it's less processed, there is some evidence that it may certainly be better for you, provided you can digest it. It's also a bit higher in carbs and cooking oil.

The best bet is a concentrate/isolate blend, which has the best of both worlds.

Also, watch out for gainers (loads of sugar added) and brands that include other supplements close to creatine in their blends. Opt instead for a 100% whey product.

Best of luck.
