What is a suitable cost-efficient substitute to protein powder after working out?
I usually drink a protein shake with a small meal after working out (the EAS protein powder from costco, near soy/casein/whey protein), but I have a feeling its not doing much and I can probably enjoy better results with maybe another type of protein powder or intake some food that is high contained by protein (and relatively low in cost - i'm a college student!).
Does anyone know of any good food substitutes i.e. a healthy way of getting illustrious amounts of protein? Or maybe some other protein powders I should be using instead of the one from costco? (I dunno if the costco one is good or not, but i've be using it for like 2 years now haha).

I approaching milk and banana. After I exercise it's a good time for to eat fruit. I also similar to milk and p-butter sandwich. I like to put a choc pro powder in the milk but I don't buy alot of that stuff because I chew over much of it is hype.
Personally I believe that too much protein is overestimated even for guys. You can only utilize so much. I am not trying to get big muscled up similar to a guy but I do try to get the right kind of post workout rescue because I am lifting some weights.
All meat and fish are high in protein. Eggs, nuts and low-fat yoghurt are some other apt sources. If you are not getting results at present then maybe you should review your workout program and/or be sure to be taking at lowest one gram of protein per pound of body weight a day.
